Web-Scheduled Telephone Conferences

KGNU has an account set up to do free telephone conferences. The only charges participants will pay will be standard long-distance charges. The website to create the conference is www.freeconference.com You can have up to 100 participants for as long as 3 hours. Login: see the SecretInfo page

You should have the e-mail addresses of participants that you want to invite to the conference handy, as the system can send an invitation for you.

To set up a conference:

Click “Schedule” Click “Web-scheduled Standard” Choose the estimated number of participants Choose date and time of the conference Choose an estimated duration

You can create an access code for participants to use to join the conference or the system will assign one. If you choose to create one yourself, it must be 5-8 digits, numerical only.

Make a few easy choices regarding the call itself (i.e. “chimes” can sound when someone joins or leaves the conference, etc).

Choose whether or not to have the system send your invitations. If you choose yes, you will need to provide participants’ names, e-mail addresses and time zones. The system will also give you information regarding inviting participants yourself.
