SWOT Analysis

The Planning Commitee asked us to do a SWOT analysis of the issues that we cover.

SWOT = Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats

This is how they describe the 4 boxes:

Strengths: What do we do well? What unique resources can we draw on? What do others see as our strengths?

Weaknesses: What could we improve? Where do we have fewer resources than others? What are others likely to see as weaknesses?

Opportunities: What good opportunities are open to us? What trends could we take advantage of? Looking at our strengths, how can you turn these into opportunities?

Threats: What trends could harm us? What is your “competition” doing? Looking at our weaknesses, what threats do these expose us to?

Think of it as a matrix of GOOD/BAD, INTERNAL/EXTERNAL
